Step 1: Turn on Wi-Fi
At the bottom right of the Chromebook, select the time.
Select Not Connected . Note: If you see your Wi-Fi network name and a signal strength, your Chromebook is already connected to Wi-Fi.
Turn on Wi-Fi.
Your Chromebook will automatically look for available networks and show them to you in a list.
Step 2: Pick a network and connect
To connect an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to your wireless home network:
Tap the Settings icon.
Tap Wi-Fi.
a. Confirm that Wi-Fi is set to On.
b. Choose your network from the list provided.
c. Enter your network's encryption key if you're prompted and tap Join.
d. Tap On to automatically join networks your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch has joined previously. If it detects a network it doesn't recognize, it will ask you before it automatically joins the network.
e. Tap the Home button to return to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch home page.
Select the Network icon in the notification area; usually this icon is on the bottom right of the desktop.
In the list of networks, choose the network that you want to connect to, and then select Connect.
Type the security key (often called the password).
Follow additional instructions if there are any.
Signing Into a Chromebook:
Press the power button.
Open the Chromebook.
Enter your Abilene ISD school email address (id#@abileneisd.org)
Enter your Abilene ISD password
a. PreK-4th grade: aisdMMDD (2-digit birth month, 2-digith birth day)
b. 5th grade - 12th grade: student created password or default aisdMMDD
To connect an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to your wireless home network:
Tap the Settings icon.
Tap Wi-Fi.

Choose your network from the list provided.

Tap the App Store app on your Home screen.
a. Note: AISD iPads use the Self-Service App Store to install new apps. Find this app and look for approved apps to install.
Browse or search for the app that you want to download, then tap the app.
Tap the price or tap Get. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID.
After your app finishes downloading, you can move it to a different spot on your Home screen.
Signing into your AISD Google Account:
Open the Chrome browser.
Click on the Sign-In button on the top right OR click the icon.
a. If logged into another Google account, sign out of all accounts.
Sign in using your Abilene ISD Google Account.
Note - if you should have access and you are having issues, check to make sure all other Google accounts are signed out and ONLY your AISD google account is signed in.

Please wait 24-48 hours for all remote learning classes and materials to be accessible to the student once they have officially been enrolled as a Remote Learner.
Log in to RapidIdentity using the student 6-digit lunch number and password to access either Seesaw (Grades PreK - 2) or Google Classroom (Grades 3 -12).
Remote learners will follow the schedule sent by the teacher for 3rd - 5th grade. Grades 6-12 will follow their class schedule provided in Frontline.
