This course provides students with an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States, involving both the study of general concepts used to interpret US politics and the analysis of specific case studies. A summer project may be required. Students in this class are also enrolled in AP Microeconomics. Students have a special schedule that permits them to take both AP exams in the spring.
Students deepen their understanding of the basic economic problems and institutions of the nation and the world in which they live. They learn to make reasoned decisions on economic issues as citizens, workers, consumers, business owners and managers, and members of civic groups. This course enriches students’ understanding of the operation and institutions of economic systems.
