About Miriam:

Miriam Patterson is a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, and community facilitator with training and experience as an elementary school teacher and international development worker. She runs a small yoga therapy practice from her home in Toronto where she works individually and with groups, to develop home practices that can support a healthy body, mind and spirit. She is currently the yoga therapist at the Abbey Retreat Center in Haliburton, Ontario.

She is also a mother to a 11 year old girl. Together, they enjoy adventuring around the world. Miriam is passionate about creating healthful patterns of living within our individual lives so that we can carry those patterns into our relationships with our families and the world.

Topic Summary:

Yoga offers us many tools that when used with intention can greatly impact our sense of well-being and health. The tools of yoga include the Asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath work), dhyana (meditation), chanting (sound), prayers, diet, exercise, being in nature, as well as engaging with family and community.

Please wear comfortable clothes because this talk will be experiential.
