Parent and Student Guide to Google Classrooms at Hermitage Academy

What is Google Classrooms?

Many pupils will be encouraged to use Google Classroom as a resource to assist them both in the classroom and at home. Teachers can use Google Classroom to send announcements to entire classes, share resources, course notes and homework. Pupils can use it in school, at home or on the go to access work covered in class. It is a free resource that can be accessed from any device connected to the internet - laptops, desktop computers, chromebooks, tablets or mobile phones.

We would highly encourage pupils to demonstrate the following features of Google Classroom to their parents/carers.

Accessing Google Classrooms

Argyll and Bute pupils can access Google Classrooms through the Glow portal at https://glow.rmunify.com/ Pupils have been signed up to Glow in school and should note their username and password for use at home.

‘Glow is Scotland’s nationally available digital environment and can support learning across the whole curriculum. Glow is not just one place or platform, instead it offers a username and password that gives access to a number of different web services.’
