Children will be learning about sexual abuse.
We do this because we want children to understand and remember that no child should be hurt or feel frightened. We understand that it can be difficult to talk to children about things like abuse, we will do this with care so that children are not frightened, but so they understand their right to be safe and protected from harm, and that they can talk to adults who love and care for them if they are ever worried.
The children will learn about ChildLine so that they always know it is there to help them throughout their childhood.
At this age children are often curious, they may have heard or seen things that mean they have questions. We want to give the children good, basic knowledge. This lesson will encourage children to understand that adult sexual relationships should be based on trust, love, consent and intimacy.
The children will have an opportunity to ask questions within the class, as well as a questions box to ask any questions they may want to ask individually.
