In this section you will see a description of each lesson and the accompanying resources.
We will be learning about all the different feelings a person can have and thinking about what we actually feel and how we show our feelings in our face, our body and in our words. The children will be thinking about lots of different feelings including being excited, happy, shy, safe and worried. We will use games and stories to consider our feelings. We will use My many coloured days Dr Seuss. The book introduces the idea of colours to express how you are feeling, so that you can ask ‘what colour are you feeling?’ And we will be listening to this song: The Feelings Song
The children will explore ways in which they can help to keep themselves safe in different situations. They will learn about what makes children feel safe by watching and discussing the following video:
The children will also discuss what they should do in times when they do not feel safe or if they are worried.
The children will explore friendship and will be encouraged to think about what they would want from a friend and what kind of friend they can be.

The children will be talking and learning about the idea of helping and caring for others. They will be thinking about how we care for and help each other at home, at school and in the community. They will identify the people who care for them, this could be a family member or a professional person, and they will make a ‘thank-you’ card to a person of their choice.
