Musical Hydrotherapy (Liquid Listening)
Staff were delighted to achieve their certificates following training in Liquid Listening Therapy. Joining Amanda Burgess (PE teacher) who brought Liquid Listening to Orchard Brae having seen it in practice on a visit to a school in Glasgow, were a range of staff across the school:
Lisa Hutt, Donna Massie, Rob Morrice, Claire Ewen, Karen Underwood, Hannah Mearns, Sam Wildi and Naomi Farrimond.
Amanda is excited to be leading the development of the programme in school this term.

Intensive Interaction
Our teacher, Sarah Little, has completed Module 2 with the Intensive Interaction Institute. Congratulations Sarah! We are delighted that Sarah wishes to continue professional development in this area, going on to Module 3 next session.
This is part of our wider school strategy to further develop our communication approach for all learners, our teacher / Makaton tutor, Amanda Murray, supporting with the development of Makaton and AAC across the school.
Orchard Brae gain their 4th Green Flag
Pupils and staff have worked hard across the school to gain our 4th Green Flag through the Eco Schools Award. This included new initiatives with work on sustainability in the school grounds led by the Outdoor Education Team (Roddy & Jess), a Toilet Twinning project for our seniors (last year's Room 19 pupils) and lots of work in the community garden by Howes Hoose. Very well done to everyone involved in this work!
