S3 Digital Literacy

Course Overview

All pupils in S3 will get one period each week of Digital Literacy. The Digital Literacy course is designed to empower pupils to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in our digital world. The course will focus on developing skills in three key areas:

• Network Literacy

• Information Literacy

• Social Media Literacy

Learning and Teaching Approaches

Pupils will have many opportunities to practice their digital skills by creating online content both individually and collaboratively throughout the year. 

Homework

Homework will be issued on a regular basis. This will most likely involve putting digital skills into practice and creating content for an outline platform at home.

Assessment Approaches

Pupils will work on building an e-Portfolio throughout the year which will also be used to capture evidence as learner’s progress through the main units of the course.
