Course Overview
The Level 4 Business Education course will enable you to develop a basic understanding of administration in the workplace, develop IT skills and use them to perform various administrative tasks and to develop a knowledge and understanding of the importance of business and enterprise, how enterprises are organised and how they function.
Learning and Teaching Approaches
Business Education lessons are varied and will include practical activities such as Word Processing, creating and editing Spreadsheets, Databases, and PowerPoint Presentations – working through a series of booklets. You will also be involved in paired activities and group work exercises, learning about the structure of businesses and the roles within the various departments. A profile will be kept of your performance in class work and assessments. This will let you see which areas you are doing well in, as well as setting yourself targets to help you improve as you work through the course.
Homework
You will receive homework on a regular basis. It may consist of completing an exercise started in class, completing a homework sheet or revising for an assessment. Any missed classwork will be available via Google Classroom.
Assessment Approaches
Assessment will take place both formally and informally throughout the course. Assessments will be in one of four forms to include: ‘write’, ‘make’, ‘say’ and ‘do’. As well as formative assessment you will also be assessed at the end of each unit. These assessments will either be practical based, testing your skills or knowledge based.
