Our amazing stars of the week  - for their fantastic effort helping out at Potted Sports making sure all activities ran smoothly.

The P7's had a fabulous day out for their Final Fling yesterday visiting Innoflate and Duthie Park.

At Sports Day this year everyone enjoyed themselves taking part in all the races.

# Bunny Hop 🐰

The class made a fantastic effort for our bunny hop on a windy Friday morning!

Primary 6/7 spent the afternoon of World Book Day at our local library! We had a wonderful visit choosing books to read during ERIC time in class, we can't wait to go back! 📚

# UNCRC Assembly

The class worked very hard to practice and present their rights based assembly on Article 6 to their families and the whole school, they did a fantastic job sharing what they have learned!

## P6 Big Run!

The P6s took part in a Big Run with other schools across Aberdeen City Council! It was a great success

The P6s ran 1 mile at the Aberdeen Sports Village on a perfect sunny day and everyone put in 100% effort

## Creativity

During outdoor learning we were very creative and made our very own shelters!

## Teamwork

Many children worked hard to create a swing attached to a tree! After many attempts, it was a great success 🎉

## Skills

Mr Miller taught the children how to use garden clippers safely and we got the chance to use them taking the correct safety precautions!

Term 1 Overview

Literacy

We will focus on Biographies and Diaries and of course practise an area of Narrative writing, focusing on setting the scene using a range of VCOP strategies

Numeracy

We will focus on 2D and 3D shapepatterns and relationships and Maths Week Scotland will be from 25.09.23-01.10.23 where we will work on the themes of 'Maths in our Everyday Lives'

HWB

We will focus on mental health and wellbeing and our emotions. We have been working on developing our growth mindset and building resilience in all aspects of our learning

Science

We will focus on Planet Earth; Processes of the Planet and Space.

Cross Curricular

Our first topic this term is Caring Citizens which gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, our learning styles, needs, abilities, work on friendship making and building and creating structures, routines and our UNCRC Class Charters.

We will then move onto  Around the World where our focus is Australia!
