We all know that 21st century students need to have good keyboarding skills in order to be successful in our device-filled world. From school assignments to basic communication, proper and speedy typing skills will help our kids in countless ways. Like any skill, some kids pick up keyboarding easily, while for others a great deal of practice is required.
In Library class, some time will be set aside for keyboarding practice in Grades K-5. For families wishing to supplement their child’s typing time, students can use Typing Club at home.
Use Typing Club in whatever way you think best, as often as you like. Here are the things we like to remind students:
Racing through the lessons without really memorizing keys doesn’t help them at all.
All ten fingers in proper position is an important habit.
The goal is to NOT look at your hands!
Someday this WILL be easy!
Clever is a portal through which students can access many different apps specific to the AAPS.
Choose the Log in with Clever option, then enter the username and password or scan the QR code (provided from your school).
Once in Clever, choose the Typing Club app to begin typing.
