Science Club

What is the Cityside Science Club?
  • It is a group for any 6th, 7th or 8th grade student at Cityside Middle School.
  • We will meet after school about two times a month for the purpose of learning about science and using our current science skills and to have fun with science.
  • Science Club students should come to Mrs. Elhart's classroom, room 113 after school. Sometimes we will be at locations outside of Cityside, a permission slip will be necessary for any field trip we might take.
  • The topics of the club will be determined by the group. Suggested topics are listed but these are subject to change based on student interest.
  • Students can attend one or all sessions. We will ask students to sign up prior to the meetings to be sure we are prepared for the correct number of students. Students can always come without signing up but they may not have materials of their own.
  • Students sign up by emailing me they plan to attend. My email is melhart@zps.org or they can stop by my room to let me know (113)
  • At times there may be a cost involved but we will try to keep this to a minimum and as low as possible.  Do not let cost keep any student from attending, just inform us if it is an issue and we will find a way for them to attend.

All a student has to do to sign up is let me know in person or email me that they are coming. melhart@zps.org

Science Club meeting information

Science club will begin on Monday, October 9.  The dates we will meet as a club are listed below.  We plan to meet right after school until 4:00. We may extend our ending time of some meetings if we need more time to accomplish our task at that meeting.  Once a child has signed in to attend they must remain until our club time is up or if a parent comes to pick them up.

Students can sign up by emailing melhart@zps.org. Students can also stop by my room, 113, to let me know you plan to attend. There will be enough materials for those who sign up the day before the event. You are still welcome the day of each meeting but we can't guarantee materials.
