OTTOLENGHI

Yoko, writer of this site, recommended me to go to Yotam Ottolenghi's restaurant when I visit London.  Yotam Ottolenghi is little known in Japan, but he is an renowned Israeli chef, but he had grown up in a huge mixure of diverse culinary culture - European and Middle Eastern.  He is famous for vegetable dishes, yogurt-based sauce and the Middle-Eastern dishes.

I went to Notting Hill deli shop which is cozy and just one table with 10 seats, and the decor is casual but elegant.  It was crowded and I had to wait for sometime.

When I went there around lunch time, I did not have so much appetite, but I could easily finish salad plate (above) - selection of three salad.  These are Roasted sweet potatoe with masala yoghurt, Grilled Basmati and wild rice with chickpes, and kale and other vegetables with yoghurt.

It was so delicious and has unique taste with some sweet and sour flavor that I've never tasted before.  It's really worth waiting and  trying his dishes.

I have ottolenghi's book "PLENTY" which showcases his philosophy  and vivrant vegetable receipes.
