How to Activate Email

A Step by Step Guide on how to activate your email on Google Apps 

1.  Go to the Apps Dashboard and click on “Activate Email”

2. Go to your domain hosting service (i.e. On the Domain Manager, click on “Total DNS Control and MX Records”.


3. On the DNS Control Panel, delete ALL the records under MX (Mail Exchange). To do this, click on “X”. 


A dialogue box will appear and click on “Ok”. Another dialogue box will appear to confirm the action, click “ok”.

 Wait for the removal of the records, it may take 1 hour. In the meantime, take a break.

4.  Click on “Add New MX Record”. For the input refer to the Apps Dashboard. First choose priority “10”, “@” for Host Name and then copy and paste the Mail Server name (i.e. ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.), then change the TTL value (i.e. 1 week). Click ok. A dialogue box will confirm the action.




Repeat #5 until you complete the 5 MX records.

5.  When done, go back to the Apps Dashboard and click on “I have completed these steps”.  Validation may take up to 48 hours.
