The first Forum for Arabic Linguistics conference will be held at the University of Essex on 28-30th July 2015. The conference is jointly sponsored by the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex and the Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York.

The aim of this international conference is to provide a forum for academic and scholarly exchange on the linguistics of the Arabic language family, for researchers from across Europe and the Middle East, and beyond. 

For Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers: we are delighted to announce that Peter Trudgill will be contributing to a Q&A session with postgrad students as part of the conference, together with a postgraduate tutorial in sociolinguistics by Uri Horesh (sponsored by the Linguistics Association of Great Britain).

The call for papers invited submission of abstracts in all areas of Arabic linguistics, including: phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, morphology, dialectology, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, conversation analysis, historical linguistics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics and computational linguistics. The call for papers is now closed.
