The YIS website and Parent Portal (linked to the Veracross student information system) are the main online platforms for accessing up-to-date information about what is happening at school and your child’s learning experiences. We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with these interconnected platforms and to visit them often.
The YIS website, with information organized under the headings About Us, Admissions, Learning, School Life and Community, provides comprehensive information about the school for prospective families, the current YIS community and the wider world. Resources and links of specific interest to parent may be found on the parents section of the website as well as the PTSA section.
The Parent Portal is a secure, password-protected site that connects directly to the school's Veracross student information system. In addition to direct access to the family information you have registered with the school, it provides personalized access to your child’s schedule, grade reports, attendance, calendars, as well as links to the school directory, convenient online sign-up for activities, parent-teacher conferences and more.
A Note About Calendars
School events are displayed on both the YIS website and the parent portal calendars, and both feature iCal and other feeds that allow you to integrate with other calendar software that you may use. Whereas the All School Calendar on the website lists key school events across all sections of the school, the Household Calendar on the Veracross parent portal is a personalized calendar that shows events of specific relevance to your child(ren).
