  • Pre-Season Mandatory Meeting for SAILMAINE
March 13th at 6 PM at Portland High School, usually in the auditorium.   All Sailors are expected to attend.  We will have a quick Yarmouth team meeting with sailors and parents following the SailMaine meeting.

Season Schedule, Expectations, Code of Conduct Forms, etc.  Also, probably a chance to order discounted sailing gear from Landing Boat Supply (which is located in the same complex at the Royal River Grillhouse in Yarmouth).

  • Team Racing Clinic -- Feb. 26, 2017 3-5 PM
Hey Team, All are invited to attend the Team Racing clinic at Portland Yacht Club.  There are specific rules and "plays" that make up the strategy and execution of team racing.  It helps if sailors already are familiar with some of this prior to hitting the water at the end of March.  Skippers especially need to be in attendance!

  • Learning Team Racing (or brushing up?)
Falmouth Sailing Team has invited the Yarmouth Sailing Team along with Portland perhaps?  to join Falmouth for a few meetings to get up to speed on Team Racing before the season starts.  These clinics will be taught by Dick Levesque, Falmouth coach, for a few hours on some Sunday afternoons, probably late in the day to allow our skiers to get back from their weekends.  The idea is to be able to hit the water with full knowledge of plays and strategies.  Anyone team racing should attend, especially the "core" group of racers, which is probably most of our spring team.  Cost will be covered by YST funds.  More info to follow.
