Presenter: Maya Crosby (Lincoln Academy)
Room: 508
Topic: Picasa for Photos

Access to Picasa Web Albums has recently (fall 2010) been added to the Google Apps for Education suite.  Picasa is a powerful photo organization and editing program that can be downloaded for free from Google, and Picasa Web Albums allow you to share those Picasa photo albums online. One of the advantages to using Picasa as part of your Google Apps domain is the ease of collaboration and sharing with others in the domain.

In this session, we will start with some basics of uploading photos to Picasa Web Albums for photo organization and sharing.  In addition to basic editing, we will look at tuning, effects, and re-touching using Picnik. Next, we will look at some of the ways you can use Picasa in your classroom with students to share albums, create online portfolios, and collaborate on projects.

  • Installing Picasa Web Album Uploader
  • Two different methods to upload photos
  • Editing photos using Picasa and Picnik
