Project Description:

You will animate the stages & phases of the Cell Cycle in a format that you choose. You could complete a:

• Flip Book

• Stop-Frame animation

• Imovie

• Slide show

• Comic Strip

In an example of stop frame animation you could use the provided cell sheets and pipe cleaners. The pipe cleaners will model the chromatids. Take a picture at each stage and create a Google Presentation to record it in, label the different structures and what is going on in the photo with that stage of cell division.

To extend the simulation you could add a real image of cell division happening and a computer created image to the page. The purpose of the project is to broaden your knowledge of this essential life process, and to help you recall the major events that occur at each stage & phase of this process. Your animated document can also serve as a study guide for the final assessment.
