Professional Profile

I have been teaching since 2006 at Yarmouth High School. I currently teach CP Biology and AP Biology. I have also taught Earth and Physical Science and CP Environmental Science. I currently collaborate as a member of the Yarmouth High School Leadership Team in the capacity of Science Learning Area Leader.

Background
I have a BA in Science of Earth Systems from Cornell University and an MA in Science Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University.  In addition to teaching, I have worked as a camp head counselor and trip leader and environmental educator.  I currently advise the Yarmouth Outing Club and am on the Board of Managers for Teens to Trails, a non-profit dedicated to supporting outing clubs in Maine.

Educational Interests
My teaching style is driven by my desire for students to understand the role of science in life.  My interests include using technology tools when they help students learn and create, working on using inquiry to help students develop scientific thinking skills, and creating experiences for students to better understand themselves and the world around them.
