Dr. Gus K. Lott III

Senior Engineer, PhD, PMP
Dr. Gus K. Lott III is YarCom's electrical, biophysical, and neural-systems engineer. He specializes in advanced measurement systems, simulations, and software at the interface between Electrical and Computer Engineering, Neuroscience, and Geospatial Science..

Dr. Lott has been working with YarCom since we opened our doors. From 2007-2011, he was also employed as the senior electrical and software systems engineer in the Instrument Design and Fabrication group at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Janelia Farm Research Campus.  He later worked at The MITRE Corporation where he develops technology for robotic perception and computational visualization. 
He is currently employed at Amazon PrimeAir in the position of Principal Scientist.

He earned his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Cornell University in 2007, a B.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Dr. Lott is a member of the IEEE & the Society for Neuroscience.

Dr. Lott has expertise spanning disciplines in engineering and biology.  He has application experience in embedded systems design, data acquisition & instrument control software, nanofabrication, and modern methods in model systems neuroscience. He is the author of
Spike Hound and gVision, open-source,widely adopted data acquisition, signal analysis, and display software packages for neurophysiology.
