Discrimination is the treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, an employee on the basis of the above-listed protected categories including, but not limited to, any of the following forms: (a) basing an employment decision on job applicant’s or employee’s protected status; (b) treating an applicant or employee differently with regard to any aspect of employment because of their protected status; (c) engaging in harassment, as more specifically defined below; and (d) taking adverse employment action (i.e., demotion, transfer, discipline, or termination) against an employee based on the employee opposing discrimination in the workplace; assisting, supporting, or associating with a member of a protected category who complains about discrimination, or assisting in an investigation of discrimination.

Harassment is the persistent disturbance or irritation of an employee on the basis of the above-listed protected categories including, but not limited to, any of the following forms: (a) verbal harassment such as epithets, derogatory comments, or slurs; (b) physical acts such as assault or impeding or blocking movement; (c) visual insults such as derogatory posters, drawings, or photographs; or (d) unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other acts of a sexual nature.

Any such discrimination or harassment is abhorrent, insupportable, illegal, and will not be tolerated.

YarCom Inc. will provide reasonable accommodations (changes to the way things are normally done in our workplace) to applicants and employees who need them for medical or religious reasons, as required by law. However, any religious reason must not unduly burden any other applicant or other employee who does not practice, recognize, or support a religion.

Our employees will not be punished for reporting discrimination, participating in a discrimination investigation or lawsuit, or opposing discrimination. We will protect the confidentiality of employees who report discrimination or participate in a discrimination investigation, to the greatest possible extent. We require managers and other employees with human resources responsibilities to respond appropriately to discrimination or to report it to individuals who are authorized to respond. We will provide for prompt, thorough and impartial investigation of complaints and provide for prompt and effective corrective and preventative action when necessary. We will notify employees who file internal complaints about the status of their complaint, the results of the investigation, and any corrective and preventative action taken.

YarCom will not employ or associate with anyone or any organization who has ANY:

  • involvement in, support of, training to commit, or advocacy of any act of sabotage, espionage, treason, terrorism, or sedition against the United States of America;

  • association or sympathy with persons who are attempting to commit, or who are committing, any of the above acts;

  • association or sympathy with persons or organizations that advocate, threaten, or use force or violence, or use any other illegal or unconstitutional means, in an effort to:

    • overthrow or influence the government of the United States or any state or local government;

    • prevent Federal, state, or local government personnel from performing their official duties;

    • gain retribution for perceived wrongs caused by the Federal, state, or local government; or,

    • prevent others from exercising their rights under the Constitution or laws of the United States or of any state;

  • involvement in unlawful activities to support foreign interests to the detriment of US national security; or

  • involvement in extremist organizations, such as hate groups, antigovernment patriot groups, or single-issue groups that support, commit, or advocate any of the above acts.

YarCom Inc. has a zero-tolerance policy on illegal drugs use, prescribed drug abuse, or alcohol abuse. This includes drugs that may be legal under state statutes but remain illegal under Federal statutes or regulations. All employees are subject to random drug screen testing.
