Frequently Asked Questions

Will my child be expected to wear a mask all day?

Students in the lower elementary grades will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask when social distancing is not practical.


Students in the upper elementary and middle school grades will be expected to wear a mask throughout the day.

Will the school provide a mask for my child?

Each child will receive a mask from the school.

How and when will I be notified that zones are being changed?

Mass messaging communication will be used to notify if a zone will be changing. This will be done in a timely manner when it is necessary to change zones.

Are the green and yellow zones Monday through Friday with students present in the building?

Yes.

Is the orange zone Monday through Thursday?

Yes. Your child will be present in the school building two days and at home two days.

In the orange zone, when will my child be in the school building to learn?

A list will be sent home indicating the days on which your child will learn at school.

In the orange zone, what is expected of my child when he/she is not learning in the school building?

Students in the lower elementary grades will be given paper packets to complete and/or will be expected to check in virtually.


Students in the upper elementary grades and middle school will be expected to check in virtually and/or complete assignments online.

What will learning look like in the red zone?

Learning boards will be given to families to indicate what needs to be done within one week. Additional details will be given at a later date.

If the elementary playground is closed before and after school, where does my child go?

Before school, students will wait in a designated area with other classmates. The classroom teacher will meet the students outside and lead them into the school while following social distancing guidelines.


After school, the classroom teacher will walk the students to the designated area outside.

Can I walk my preschooler into his/her classroom?

No. A teacher and/or aide will meet you at the preschool doors. The teacher/aide will then bring the child into the school building.

Will my middle school child have to carry all his/her books to each class?

No. Although locker access is limited, your child will not have to carry all his/her books to each class.

If my child has an unexplained fever, do I have to keep him/her home for ten days?

Yes. This is recommended by the CDC. If your child’s health care provider is able to explain why the fever is occurring, then the appropriate actions will be taken.

If my child has a runny nose or cough, can I send him/her to school?

If your child is exhibiting any signs of COVID-19, please watch the symptoms closely. If possible, call your child’s health care provider and discuss any symptoms that your child is exhibiting.
