  • Scholarship Meeting for Seniors- Rescheduled Date On Thursday January 29th, from 10:50 - 11:25, there will be a Senior Scholarship meeting in the auditorium.  Ms. Gavenus will explain how to fill out the 2015 Yancey County Local Scholarships Common Application.  This will also be a review of how to search for scholarships, nationally, regionally, locally, and at your college of choice.  This is a great time to come with questions!

  • Golden Leaf Scholarships- Apply NOW! Deadline March 1 This is an awesome scholarship.  If you are from a farming family, but not the highest test scores/rank/gpa, you still have a good shot.  Also, if you are a good student, but don't think you will qualify for financial aid, you may as they are more flexible with what they consider need.  You won't know unless you apply!I'd like to see a lot of our seniors in the applicant pool this year.  I think in the past, there has been money that could have come to our county students, but no one applied.  The online Golden LEAF Scholarship application for the 4-year program to attend NC’s colleges and universities is now live ...
