Tomáš Jirsa (Ostrava, 1993) je členem uměleckého a subkulturního kolektivu HLUBINA, věnuje se zvukovému umění a performanci. Zajímá jej fenomén DO IT YOURSELF komunit a jejich propojování jako alternativy vůči klasickému pojetí kultury a kulturních institucí. Kromě dramaturgické a kurátorské činnosti se ve vlastní tvorbě dlouhodobě zabývá studiem zvuku a jeho narativů v environmentálním kontextu, možnostmi interakce mezi různými materiály, přičemž zkoumá aspekty jejich sociální rovnosti či nerovnosti.

Pro spodní patro Galerie XY vytváří instalaci, jejíž součástí je záznam zvukové stopy vzniklé přímo na místě. Autentický zvuk a jeho interakce s použitými materiály tvoří napjatou situaci na hraně destrukce a vzniku něčeho nového. Na první pohled se vše jeví pevné, homogenní, ale postupujícím časem i okamžikem se tyto struktury mohou dramaticky měnit a co zůstává jako reziduum, jako stopa? Je to neustálý cyklus? Je to pomíjivost? Je to infinitivní?

Vernisáž proběhla v rámci programu 10. ročníku knižního veletrhu LITR, který se konal 20.–22. září v Olomouci.

Tomáš Jirsa (Ostrava, 1993) is a member of the artistic and subcultural collective HLUBINA, dedicated to sound art and performance. He is interested in the phenomenon of DO IT YOURSELF communities and their interconnection, as an alternative to the classical concept of culture and cultural institutions. In addition to his dramaturgical and curatorial activities, his own work has long been concerned with the study of sound and its narratives in an environmental context, the possibilities of interaction between different materials, and exploring aspects of their social equality or inequality.

For the XY-1 gallery, he is creating an installation that includes a soundtrack recorded on site. The authentic sound and its interaction with the materials he uses creates a tense situation bordering on destruction and the emergence. The installation aims to create tension and a need to build a universe of radical language of hearing and listening. The installation serves as a parallel to interpersonal relationships reaching their limit, to the point of resonance, destruction and fragility. Jirsa looks at the disintegration of these relationships in the context of our surrounding environment. He explores the boundaries of the soundscape in relation to the physical materials that provide us with the space to create social stability, which for him are the laconic shelters of a sense of security, dwellings and sacristies of consciousness. At first glance everything appears solid and homogeneous, but as time and the moment passes the structures can change dramatically and what remains as a residue, as a trace? Is it a constant cycle? Is it impermanent? Is it infinite?
