Welcome back to school to everyone! Here we start a new course and new e-Twinning projects.
To get the feeling of e-Twinning I invite you to watch a video that explains what is e-Twinning and what is it for. Our students not only learn content, they also develope basic skills in communication, learning and socializing. Let's have a fantastic new school year with e-Twinning!

With these four videos I want to present e-Twinning to our school I. Eugeni d'Ors, not only to our students, but also to our teachers and invite everybody to participate and get into e-twinning. You are all invited.

Amb aquests quatre videos vull presentar l'e-Twinning al nostre Institut Eugeni d'Ors, no només als nostres estudiants, sinó també als nostre professorat i convidar a tothom a participar i involucrar-se amb l'e-Twinning. Tothom hi està convidat.

I invite you to watch another video. It is  a video about MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES. It is the product of an e-twinning project made by five schools in Europa. This e-twinning project has won a prize in 2017. We can see what students and teachers did, how they worked in groups together, and worked with other schools. E-twinning opens the classroom to the world and invites you to improve your learning skills and your communicative English skills. It  also helps you how to learn, make friends and think about real and appealing matters, such as what is a migrant person, what is a refugee and the differences and similarities existing among them.

Let's continue by whatching another video. It is the presentation of a project that also won a prize in 2017. The project is about Darwin's theory of the evolution of the species. You can see how studets work in class making their own e-book. They learn and communicate English, but they also learn words from other languages. E-twinning it is not only communicating in English, but also understanding the plurarity and richness of cultures in Europe. In addition to this, students learn to work autonomously, talk in public and feel more confident and proud.

In Darwin's Steps

I want to tell you that thanks to e-twinning projects, students can know more about Europe and travel with their minds and interacting online thanks to Internet. We can watch now another video and see how e-twinning not only means collaboration among students, but also between teachers. Team work is important and sharing and participating is on the conceptual basis of e-twinning. E-twinning makes us work collaborativelly.

Another outsanding point in e-twinning projects is the use of new technologies. In the following video, we will see how in the project EU Games 2015-2016 students created a game to present their countries and culture. They used the app called Kahoot, it is a free game-based learning platform that makes it fun to learn. I hope you enjoy watching it!

With e-twinning projectes you not only learn English and the use of ICT, you also learn about other subjects, like robotics and technolgy. But, what is most important, you can make friends with other children from other European countries although you cannot travel.

 About the project

First of all, each participant country and students will introduce their country and talk about themselves briefly. We will work with the students aged between 11-13. Teachers will divide these students into groups by choosing names randomly so that all groups can be equal. After that, each group will start working on their projects and they will think about their grammar subject they want to present. Group of four or five students will come together and choose the subject and they will make up new games to teach the rules. The subject can be a grammar subject, telling a story, teaching songs, etc. Each group will have one subject. During this period they can get information from the internet, get ideas from their friends, bring posters or pictures , draw pictures, act some short plays about the subject. They will be free to decide. After working on their games through songs, posters, power-points presentations or other materials, each group will share their ideas with the class and they will have a presentation as a group. They will be teachers and they will use their imagination. During this period teachers will help students work on their projects. They will have responsibilities in the group and they will create a game. Students can act, bring songs, draw pictures, they can even compose their song to teach grammar. It depends on their creativity. While presenting, teachers or students depending on their abilities will record these presentations. Teachers will upload these materials on Twinspace and the coordinator will check these videos. The materials are: videos, record, pictures, posters, acting materials, presentations….)
