You need to follow the directions and fill out Stowe form attached below or you will not be scheduled for training slots.

Thanks you for your support!

Welcome and Thank You in advance for your help this year in making our program a success. It is only with your help that this program can work. Please read this document in its entirety and refer to it as needed. It will explain our expectations and your responsibilities for the season.

NOTE: Helmets are required!!

Waterbury/Duxbury Ski/Ride Program Requirements :

  1. Fill out the Ski/Ride Volunteer Form and submit

  2. NEW HUUSD POLICY: ALL coaches, volunteers, and chaperones will need a background and records check in order to work in TBPS or accompany children (in an unsupervised fashion or group) on field trips. If you know in advance that you will be volunteering in ANY capacity during the year it would make sense to get the background check done as soon as possible e.g. Four Winds, classroom volunteers, ski program, iMove etc.  The process could take 3-6 weeks, and sometimes longer.  The steps to do so are:

1    Call Laura Titus at HUUSD Central Office @ 583-7953 to make an appointment.

        2    Be prepared to:

        a    Bring a photo ID.

b    A check made payable to HUUSD for $12.00 (or the exact change)

c    Next you will make an appointment to be fingerprinted at the Sheriff’s office (you will need two forms of ID there).

d    Fingerprints cost $25. Mail back your receipt of fingerprinting to Laura Titus.

If you have already gone through a background/fingerprinting process for work (e.g. employed at a school, a police department, or state agency that requires fingerprinting, etc…) then bring proof that you have fulfilled these requirements, and that may take the place of submitting background and fingerprint checks.

Stowe Requirements:

  1. School Program Instructors must attend a 1 day clinic on Decemeber 9th or 10th at a cost of $0 (NO Charge this Year). PAPERWORK ATTACHED BELOW.

  2. The clinic includes lift access for those who need it, an on-snow session and an indoor session discussing safety, AAA’s, Your Responsibility Code, Smart Style, etc.

  3. Attendees must sign in at the Stowe Mountain Resort from 7:15-8:15 am.

  4. Pay in advance! Signing up in advance will save you lots of time on Clinic Day. Call Stowe Mountain Resort at 802-253-3681 to sign up and pay your clinic fee by credit card.

  5. You will be asked to provide the following information: 11 digit code on your Evolution Stowe Card (3 letters followed by 8 numbers). 6. New – ESC required: Like everyone else on the mountain, each school  program instructor must carry an Evolution Stowe Card (ESC). An ESC can be purchased at the Season Pass Desk for $5.00 prior to the start of the program. If you forget or lose your ESC, you will need to purchase a new one for $5.00. Evolution Stowe Cards are non refundable. Keep your ESC and use it season after season.

  7. Those who do not sign up and pay in advance will have to go to the Ski & Snowboard School desk in Spruce Camp on Clinic Day to process the clinic fee. This is a very busy weekend at the resort and non-paid candidates can expect to wait in line.

  8. The greater the compliance with this new advanced sale procedure, the smoother things will go on clinic day. More details will follow.

Clinic Day: NEW - Volunteers are required to stay for the entire day, 8:30-2:30, for the clinic so please plan accordingly.

  2. The candidates will give the lesson coupon to their Stowe Ski & Snowboard School Instructor.

  3. Instructor passes are only good on program days. Attempted use of the pass on days other than as defined in the above schedules will result in loss of the pass for the remainder of the season.

  4. For every 2 afternoons worked, program instructors will earn a 2018 day ticket voucher (not valid Jan 15, Feb 16--24 or any Saturdays thru Mar 24). NEW this year!
