Veterans Honor Cords


Military and Veteran Honor Cord Ceremony

In recognition of your military service to the United States of America,West Virginia University at Parkersburg would like to honor your graduation by authorizing you to wear red, white, and blue honor cords to your commencement ceremony.  You will also receive the Veterans Corps Challenge Coin.

Eligibility:  If you are graduating and are a honorably discharged U.S. Veteran, are currently serving in the U.S. military (active duty, National Guard, or Reserves) upon graduation, you are authorized to wear a Veterans Honor Cord.  

Distribution:  The Veterans Resource Center will host a Veterans Honor Cords Ceremony either at its local VFW or American Legion the week before commencement.

Details will be provided the end of the sem
ester.  If you are not able to attend the ceremony, you may pick up your Honor Cord and Challenge Coin the week prior to commencement in the Veterans Resource Center from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
