Security (SEC) Mission Statement

The Information Security (SEC) courses at WVU-Parkersburg will prepare students for industry leading, cutting edge professional work and expertise in the fields of information technology, systems          and network security.  Students taking these courses will learn                 the tools used in developing and troubleshooting the design,                           development, implementation, and maintenance of                        modern information security systems.     

Security (SEC) Student Learning Outcomes

1.   Describe information security and computer ethics.

2.   Explain Information Systems and choose appropriate                 systems based on requirements.

3.   Demonstrate ability to install, configure, manage, and               maintain encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection             technologies.

4.    Ability to plan, implement, and troubleshoot advanced             systems administration technologies

5.   Ability to plan, implement, and troubleshoot advanced              security systems
