Legal Studies (LS) Mission Statement 


The mission of the Legal Studies Program is to Inspire, Develop, 
and Connect students to careers in paralegal services, 
government, and higher education at law and 
graduate schools regionally and nationwide.
Legal Studies (LS) Student Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in the legal field,                      including specific knowledge of the American legal system and civil          litigation.

2. Exhibit knowledge of appropriate ethical behavior in the legal field.

3. Use problem solving and critical thinking skills to resolve legal                   problems and determine root causes of those problems.

4. Assist attorneys and other legal professionals with legal research,              preparation and review of documents, and other professional                      activities in the legal field.

5. Assist attorneys and other legal professionals with legal research,               preparation and review of documents, and other professional                      activities in the legal field.

6. Assist attorneys and other legal professionals with legal research,              preparation and review of documents, and other professional                      activities in the legal field.

7. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in the legal field,                      including additional specific knowledge of Property, Estates,                       Contracts, Business Organizations, Torts, Criminal Law,                              Constitutional Law, Evidence, and Family Law.

8. Engage in high-level legal judgment and analysis.

9. Engage in effective legal research and writing.
