June 29, 2011 - Charleston, WV
The West Virginia Department of Education’s Office of School Readiness, in collaboration with WVDE Office of Special Programs, Regional Education Service Agencies (RESAs), WV Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR), and the WV Head Start State Collaboration Office welcomes you to the fourth annual WV Universal Pre-K Summer Leadership Institute. The 2011 Pre-K Leadership Institute is designed to support county early childhood collaborative team members responsible for designing and implementing WV Universal Pre-K. The institute will focus on the continued development of a systematic regional and statewide support system for reaching the upcoming 2012-2013 goal of offering high-quality, universal access to Pre-K for all of West Virginia’s young children
The continued success of WV’s Universal Pre-K system stems from knowledgeable, dedicated individuals in leadership roles who strive to design and implement high quality pre-k programming for all of West Virginia’s young children. In order to offer the most comprehensive programming available, the realization is clear that it takes all early care and education partners working collaboratively to meet this goal.
The following links will provide a resource page for each of the three key sessions targeted. Introductory material and additional resources are attached below.
The WVDE Office of School Readiness will be transitioning to a new website during the summer months. The website will be fully functional be the start of school. As resources are added and organized, the WVDE OSR will continue to keep the participants of the summer institute updated. To visit the site go to
