DAILY RESA STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION
RESA Professional Development Trainers attending the Regional Training Model must come prepared by establishing a draft of the delivery model they envision for their RESA. This model must include logistics, organization and structures to support their efforts. The daily RESA Strategic Planning Sessions will provide a framework for the RESA Professional Development Trainers to revisit or support their strategic plan for implementation.
SIX CONTENT SESSIONS TARGETING MATH AND ELA
Over the three day training, participants will engage in either ELA or Match content sessions for a total of six sessions, targeting knowledge and understanding within the content objectives, strategies that are developmentally appropriate, as well as identifying strategies to acquire evidence of learning. The information, resources and guidance provided will allow the RESA Professional Development Trainers to prioritize the content and information to meet the needs established for their RESA’s strategic plan. The goal is to provide sufficient information and content to provide rich high quality summer training, as well as support during the school year. Daily, time will be provided during the content sessions for trainers to prepare their content specific resources and plans for implementation and provide feedback to the daily RESA Strategic Planning Session.
CONTINUED SUPPORT AND RESOURCES FROM THE OFFICE OF EARLY LEARNING
The Office of Early Learning will provide the RESA Professional Development Trainers a framework, resources and support to implement a regional training model for the Next Generation Content Standards and Objectives for Grades 2 and 3. However, there will also be made available a system of support throughout the 2013-14 school year to support the RESAs, counties, educators and administrators implementing Next Generation Content Standard and Objectives, inclusive of grades K-5.
Working with RESAs, professional development trainers and past Next Generation Content Standards and Objectives trainers, the Office of Early Learning will establish a systematic approach to supporting all who continue the journey of studying and implementing Next Generation Content Standards and Objectives.
