Publicly-Funded Pre-Kindergarten Education

Windham Southeast Supervisory Union announces that school districts in the towns of Brattleboro,
Dummerston, Guilford, Putney, and Vernon will offer funding for 10 hours per week of pre-
kindergarten education for 3-5 year olds in community-based preschools that contract with their local
school districts. Pre-kindergarten education is designed to provide young children with
developmentally appropriate early learning experiences based on Vermont’s Early Learning
Standards. In the 2016-17 school year, 280 children in the WSESU towns used public pre-k funding
to attend 17 different preschools that have partnership contracts with a WSESU school district.
Applications for this opportunity are available at area preschools, on the WSESU website, and by calling Janice Stockman at 254-3755.
This is not an application for a program, it is a registration for the funding.
