For various reasons some families find themselves in a position of wondering how they will provide holiday gifts for their children.

To help, Wakefield runs a HOLIDAY SHOP for three days at the Civic Center in Wakefield: Monday, Dec. 7 ~ Tuesday, Dec. 8 ~ Wednesday, Dec. 9. Hours each day are10 AM to 3 PMThe only requirement for using the holiday shop is that you are a Wakefield resident and that you shop only for your own children. Learn more.
Any individual or business that wishes to provide anonymous support to Wakefield residents may donate gifts to the shop. New toys, art supplies, clothing, or teenage type cosmetics will be greatly appreciated. Items for middle and high school children are always in short supply. New clothing in assorted sizes is always a help. If you are looking for suggestions, places like Old Navy always have great deals for the holidays. Unwrapped items may be brought to the nurses’ offices at any of the Wakefield Public Schools byFriday, December 4, or dropped off on Sunday afternoon December 6 from 12-3 PM at the Civic Center.  Thank you in advance, for any help you can provide.

November is all about “Thanks” and “Giving”!

Anton's Coats for Kids Drive: Nov. 16 - Dec. 22

In these hard economic times, thousands of individuals in our very own community are without a warm winter coat. Please donate gently worn warm winter coats in the box across from the Greenwood School library. We are accepting donations TODAY, through Dec. 22Coats will be cleaned free of charge by Anton’s Cleaners. Once collected and cleaned, coats will be distributed free of charge through the Coats for Kids Distribution Partners network.

It's easy to feel disconnected, as many parents juggle work, school, kids, and activity after activity. One of the most satisfying, fun, and productive ways to unite is volunteering for community service projects. Volunteerism also sets a good example for your kids and helps the community. For questions or more information, contact Katherine Cruise atkcruise@rcn.com. Greenwood Community Outreach thanks you for your support!

Grade 2 students continue with their Google Doc papers on being a Good Digital Citizen.  Students are inserting a picture of a super hero and writing information they learned.

Students in grades K and 1 continue to use ABCYa. This week we practiced our typing using Story Maker. Students typed My name is...  Using the spacebar, backspace and the shift for upper case letters.

Parent volunteers are welcome and appreciated during any K-4 technology class.  Please sign up with your room parent.  Students love when a parent visits and helps with projects or what we are learning.
