This month we are learning all about Turkey.  Do you know how to greet someone in Turkish?
Valentine's Candy Reminder

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Just a reminder per Wakefield Public School Policy, food may not be sent in for part of a classroom celebration whether the intent is for school consumption or to be sent home. Please keep this policy in mind if your child is bringing in Valentine's. Candy- or any other food product- cannot be part of the Valentine or distributed on school grounds.
We kindly ask that everyone adhere to this policy from the start to prevent children from being upset when the candy is removed.
Any questions, please feel free to contact our school nurse, Mrs. Siberking.
Thank-you for your continued cooperation.
Scholatic Book Wizard
You can use this great website from Scholastic to get a basic idea of what reading level books are. Help guide your children to those "just right" books by seeing what the general grade level the text is written on.

Early Dismissal Procedures

All parents/guardians who pickup a child early from school will be asked to show ID.  While Mrs. Sacco and the office staff know many parents, we ask for everyone’s cooperation with this practice for consistency.  We understand that checking IDs does add a minute to the dismissal process and we thank you in advance for your ongoing partnership as we take proactive steps to continue to ensure all children’s safety.

Scholastic Book Clubs

The Scholastic Online Book Club is a great way to to buy great, low cost books for your family while giving bonus points to your teacher and the media center. The more you order, the more you give to the school. The books come to the Media Center and get distributed to your child's classroom. Orders are placed twice a month, once around the first and again around the 15th.

A True Library Hero

Trevor Veilleux, grade 2, decided this year that instead of birthday presents, he wanted to donate $120 to the Dolbeare Media Center instead. His donation allowed us to purchase a good selection of books that the students will enjoy. Each book that he donated will be labeled on the spine as the Trevor Birthday Collection. Thank you Trevor for your generosity!!
