As you know, safety is our top priority and we regularly review our practices to ensure we are doing everything possible for our students.  All parents/guardians who pickup a child early from school will be asked to show ID.  While Mrs. Sacco and the office staff know many parents, we ask for everyone’s cooperation with this practice for consistency.  We understand that checking IDs does add a minute to the dismissal process and we thank you in advance for your ongoing partnership as we take proactive steps to continue to ensure all children’s safety.

Happy Halloween!
Dear Dolbeare Families,

Happy Friday!  We had a wonderful week here at the Dolbeare. Early in the week our Kindergarten and 1st grade students had a special visit by the Marionettes and today, Friday, we had Project Day across our school with parents visiting each room to lead fantastic fall celebrations. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to come in for the events. We love to have you in our school!

We continue to encourage reading when students arrive between 8:20-8:40am. Today, more than 70 percent of our students were reading during this time. Wow! Please remind your student to keep a book in his/her backpack. We also continue to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag every day in our school. We say it together as a school community at our MondaySchool-wide Morning Meeting.  On Tuesday-Friday, children say it as a class community, either during first period or during their class meeting block. This smaller environment allows teachers the opportunity to discuss these important words with our students.

Just a reminder that next Monday, November 3rd from 7:00-8:30pm our district is hosting a Teaching and Learning forum in the Wakefield High School Theater. The focus for the discussion is the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).  All are invited to attend.

Enjoy the cool weekend!
Sincerely, Dr. Hughes
