BIG BAG LUNCHES  for Elementary ½ Days
Did you know that the BIG BAGEL BAG lunch has a freshly baked bagel supplied by a local bakery? Wakefield School Nutrition Services bakes the Perfectos bagels off in the morning and they are served fresh that day! Each Bag Lunch is pre-bagged with…
  • 1 Whole Grain Flavored or Wheat Bagels (cream cheese  is available on the side)
  • 1 Vegetable portion (typically carrotini or veggie juice)
  • 1 Fruit portion (typically fresh whole fruit, apple smiles, or fruit juice)
  • 1 Mozzarella Cheese Stick
  • And choice of Milk (which is not in the bag)
As some months have two ½ days, at the request of the students and parents, we also offer one of the ½ days with cereal choice. Our cereals are also whole grain and low sugar.
We are in the process of evaluating this new program and would like your feedback on other BAG LUNCHES that we can prepare and bag ahead of time. It is essential that students are able to take their lunch quickly on the half days so the bags make this possible. Share with us other “entrees” besides bagel or cereal and cheese stick that you think your child might enjoy having on a half day. Contact us atWPS.FoodService@wpsk12.org.

Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders

We understand that the high snow banks make pickup at the Dolbeare extra difficult and thank everyone for their patience.  Kindergarten parents are kindly reminded to park on Lowell St and refrain from parking in the front loop (this is available for drop off in the morning).  All other parents are reminded to meet children on the blacktop or to drive through the back horseshoe.  Safety remains our top priority and we ask parents to take extra care on the sidewalks and when crossing with children in or around streets.

We thank you for your support and cooperation.

You can use this great website from Scholastic to get a basic idea of what reading level books are. Help guide your children to those "just right" books by seeing what the general grade level the text is written on.

Early Dismissal Procedures

All parents/guardians who pickup a child early from school will be asked to show ID.  While Mrs. Sacco and the office staff know many parents, we ask for everyone’s cooperation with this practice for consistency.  We understand that checking IDs does add a minute to the dismissal process and we thank you in advance for your ongoing partnership as we take proactive steps to continue to ensure all children’s safety.

Scholastic Book Clubs

The Scholastic Online Book Club is a great way to to buy great, low cost books for your family while giving bonus points to your teacher and the media center. The more you order, the more you give to the school. The books come to the Media Center and get distributed to your child's classroom. Orders are placed twice a month, once around the first and again around the 15th.
