Welcome to the Wilmington Public School Libraries

"Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open."

First Lady Laura Bush

What we are reading...

Mrs. Peachey is reading Greetings From Witness Protection.  Nikki, the main character, is living in foster care.  She is recruited to become a daughter in a family that is in the witness protection program.  This story is funny, sad, with an exciting ending.

Ms. Kurchian is reading The Unteachables by Gordon Korman.  It is a fun story told by a different voice in each chapter (like Because of Mr. Terupt).   You'll really like the different characters and cheer for all of them!  PS You will also learn what a vuvuzela is.

Here's a recent review of The Unteachables:  A hilarious new middle grade novel from beloved and bestselling author Gordon Korman about what happens when the worst class of kids in school is paired with the worst teacher—perfect for fans of Ms. Bixby’s Last Day.

What's new in the libraries

The North and West Schools recently received a grant to purchase more Lightboxes - interactive multi-media digital books - that correlate with our science and social studies curriculum.  Hurray!

We've also purchased new diverse narrative nonfiction titles thanks to another grant.

Thank you, WEF!
