Practice videotaping yourselves asking questions about your time at Wornick.
Just videotape the answers to questions such as these:
1. What did you like best about Wornick?
2. What is your most embarrasing memory from Wornick?
3. Who was your favorite teacher?
When you videotape:
1. Use the blue backdrop to cover the books behind you. It's above the bookcase in Mr. A's room. Keep it in place with books on top of the bookshelf.
2. Use a tripod.
3. Use a microphone plugged into the camera.
4. Frame the shot so that you are a little off center, looking across the camera. Here's a photo example:

"In the past, there has not been any speaking in the picture/video montage. I would agree that it would be a wonderful addition, but I don't think it should be required. If they finish the picture portion (I would also like to review for graduation purposes), they can work on a movie which would require a script."

Syllabus for 8th Grade Movie Elective: (revised 4/24/13)
We have roughly 22, probably closer to 19, class sessions together before you graduate!
We will meet M and W, 2:30-3:30pm
In that time, I need each of you to make a 60-90 second video self reflection of your time here at Wornick.
Your movie may have a written script you recite over the pictures and music. (optional)
Scope and Sequence (7 weeks)
1 - gather your media, brainstorm your ideas with your classmates, and have me approve it so you can move to...
2,3 - pre-produce your video and/or still images
4 - edit your video/still images into your individual movie, record your voice into garage band using the snowball mic
5-7 - script and pre-produce any funny skit, parody, or music video.
E Exemplary: You submit well thought out self reflection video, between 60-90 seconds, using a video camera OTHER than your macbook camera=better quality, PLUS an skit/video with some/all classmates.
M Meets: You submit well thought out self reflection video, between 60-90 seconds, using a video camera OTHER than your macbook camera=better quality
P Progressing: You submit a scripted, well thought out self reflection video, between 60-90 seconds, using your macbook camera
L Limited: You submit a poorly created, hastily planned, video using your macbook camera
1. Work quietly and respectfully toward yourself, your peers, school equipment, and me.
2. Each of you must be seated/standing at a desk. Do not move to the back counter top.
