The outside bowls season has started and a busy schedule limits the opportunities for regular social events. The club would like to thank all that supported the events during last winter and hope to see you all again in October. Social events arranged during the season will be advertised here and at the club. In the meantime, why not drop in and watch a game or two? Or better still, try the game for yourself. Visit our Join Us page for details.
A pretty well supported final night of The Flagmaster`s Trophy` saw Mike & Tom and Ros & John both with scores of 69 overturn Sally & Alans 68. A very close finish!
Mike & Tom went on to win the trophy after a bowl off.
The Killer game was won by Ros after a tussle with husband John.

Sally & Alan lead Ros & John by four points with others still in contention. Two rounds to go.
Over 60 members and friends took part in another “fun filled” and grey matter testing exercise. They formed up into some 12 teams and prepared to do battle.
The Quizmaster, Ian Tanner, set another array of (he hoped) interesting questions which the teams appeared to enjoy – if not the questions, then hearing the answers.
Halfway through the evening the members were treated to an excellent curry supper – beautifully prepared as always by Graham Smith and his able assistant Ginny Nash. The bar was in demand all evening and this demand was well satisfied by our bar staff (Richard).
After 8 rounds, the winners were John & Bev Williamson and Rob & Mrs Clews. Congratulations to them for staying the course. For their efforts they get to hold the “Arthur Taylor Quiz Trophy” until it is re-competed for again sometime in the future.
Thanks to Dave & Pat Edmonds for their organization of the event. If you want more tell Dave or Pat.
Following the success of Boxing Day, the club will open on New Years Eve from around 7pm. Closing time will depend how the evening pans out as many may be going on to other parties and friends.
Wii games will be available so challenge your friends (or others) to a game of 10 pin bowling, golf, tennis or many other games.
See you 'here'.
