Online Research Library

GCPS supports teaching and learning by making sure media specialists, teachers, and students have access to a variety of instructional and research resources. These resources provide accurate, up-to-date information that support the school system's AKS curriculum. The databases have been organized by level to ensure that students are using age-appropriate resources.
Pebble Go is one of the most popular of all the elementary databases, and I'm excited to share that Pebble Go has recently added a social studies database in addition to the existing biography and science databases! We have a new elementary science database, PowerKids Science, along with two new Scholastic products, BookFlix and Truflix for this school year. Britannica Image Quest is now available for students to use to search for images! Image Quest houses over two million images, appropriate for the elementary age student and copyright free!
Many of the databases require the user to enter a password to obtain access. If you are interested in accessing these databases, please email the media staff or send your child to media for a copy of the passwords. Passwords to the resources can also be found on the student My eClass portal. Once logged in to My eClass, click on the lock symbol to access these passwords. GCPS encourages parents to monitor your student's activity on the Internet.
