At the Sandra Worthington Silvers Tournament at Calhoun High School on October 4-5, Woodward performed well in both the novice and varsity divisions. Eight novice teams competed at Calhoun including three making their Upper School debuts. Four freshmen debaters earned speaker awards or recognition including Ali Abdullah (5th), Rishika Pandey (7th), and Aly Shakoor (8th); Ethan Cheng earned the 10th speaker award at his first ever debate tournament.
In varsity, junior Sahil Patel and sophomore Liliana Burgess made it to semifinals where they lost on a 2-1 decision against Westminster. Three varsity debaters won speakers awards: Liliana (6th), sophomore Isabelle Johnson (4th), and Sahil (3rd).
