September 27-28 marked a great start for many of the Woodward Debate novices at the Chattahoochee Cougar Classic. Freshmen Ali Abdullah and Max Abramson made it to quarterfinals of the division, and Max earned 9th speaker at his first tournament. Freshmen Gibran Essa and Aly Shakoor made it to the octafinals, and all of the novices put in a great effort.
The team also had success in the Junior Varsity and Varsity divisions with sophomore Isabelle Johnson and freshman Rishika Pandey reaching the quarterfinals in JV and Isabelle achieving 3rd speaker. In varsity, junior Sahil Patel won 8th speaker and he and sophomore Liliana Burgess were only a few speaker points away from reaching the octafinals.
