The Woodward Academy varsity debate team was in action this past weekend in Duluth at the inaugural Titan Invitational at Northview High School. After four preliminary rounds, Woodward advanced to the elimination rounds as the tournament's top two seeds. In the elimination rounds, seniors Nasir Nanjee and Rahim Shakoor advanced over Milton High School while senior Jason Sigalos and junior Karthik Srinivasan defeated a team from Alpharetta High School to earn the co-championship. In addition to their team accomplishments, three Woodward debaters placed in the top ten individual speakers: Nasir 9th, Karthik 6th, and Rahim the top overall speaker.By earning the co-championship, Nasir and Rahim are also now tied for first place in the North Fulton Stein Cup standings, a season-long ranking of teams' performances at the North Fulton tournaments.
