Español 1

This course will run for a whole year and is designed for students who wish to get started in a second language. Students begin to listen to, speak, write, and read Spanish in this introductory course. Learning vocabulary, grasping grammar points, creating dialogues, writing compositions, working on good pronunciation and striving to understand Spanish-speaking cultures in Spain and in Latin and South America are all important components. Regular assessments for each chapter will include homework, quizzes, test, dialogue and composition to help assure constant and effective study habits as student's success depends on this steady commitment to learning the language.

Today we went over the translations from last class. We finished the cultural notes about the photo on p. 84-85. We completed the a responder activity at the bottom of p. 87. Then we completed ex. 1-2 on p. 88. We ended class by taking a vocabulary recognition quiz.

In class you read text p. 84-85. Read and translated paragraphs on text p. 86-87. Then on your list of vocabulary you used text p. 105 to define the new terms.

Today in class we worked on the Comparacion Culturale in our text and workbook. We went over and completed wkbk p. 47-49. Also completed wksheet called "DID YOU GET IT" which reviews main concepts. HOMEWORK: Copy and define new vocab!!

Today we continued going over the chapter review in preparation for test on Thursday 5.1.14, so keep studying remember your articles, forms of ser, noun adjective agreement, etc... Also please remember your workbooks next class.

Today we started going over the chapter review packet. We will finish going over it tomorrow. Tonight's homework is to study. You can use the text website to study. There are flashcards, games, self check quizzes etc..
