Dear Family and Friends,
I hope all the students had a great week off. We certainly were treated to some nice weather early in the week. Every year after April vacation things start to get really busy at home and at school and before you know it, the school year is over. Please be sure to check your child’s folder each day for notes and be sure to check both sides of notes sent home. (We try our best not to be wasteful with paper.)
Here are your reminders for this week:
*Our unit of study continues to be mammals and birds and how they are different.
* In math we are learning about tally marks.
* Reading continues to get more difficult. Please be sure to fit your child’s 10 minutes of reading homework in each day.
*For those of you that like to plan ahead here are two dates to remember. Friday , May 12th there will not be any kindergarten. We will be using the classrooms to host kindergarten round-up day. Can you imagine that time is here already! I am preparing your child to become a big first grader and the preschoolers are getting ready to register for kindergarten. The other day is Friday, June 2nd, we will be taking our annual kindergarten field trip to East Hill Farm in Troy NH. It is always a fun day and we welcome chaperones. More paper work will be sent home on that in a few weeks but I wanted you to mark your calendar if you are able to join us.
*This time of year can always be a challenge in school. The students are staying up just a little bit later, it is light out longer and the weekends start to become jam packed. We also notice behaviors starting to amp up. I will do my best to keep you updated on your child's day . Be sure to check in with him/her each night on how the day went and please be sure to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a great week !
