About Me

A biography!
Hola, My name is Julie Torres, I've been teaching Spanish at BFUHS since September 2000.  I graduated from BFUHS in 1994, then went on to further my education at Keene State College in Keene, NH. While at Keene State I had the opportunity to participate in their travel abroad program. In 1997 I traveled to Seville, Spain, while there, I studied at The Center for Cross-Cultural Studies. I graduated from Keene State College in May 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After teaching for several years I returned to Keene State to obtain my Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction in 2007.

Currently at BFUHS we are offering Spanish One through Advanced Spanish. Since I have been at BFUHS we have planned student trips during alternating years. In the past we have had adventures in Spain, and we have taken students to Costa Rica on two different occasions. In April 2018 I took a small group of students to Peru. We visited many sites, some of which included touring Cuzco,, exploring the Sacred Valley, Visiting the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, and of course, going to Machu Picchu, I will be taking a group of students to Europe in April 2019. We will be visiting Barcelona, Provence, Cóte d'Azur, Florence & Rome. We hope to be able to continue to plan these trips in the years to come.
