Part of our 8th grade Physical Science unit on matter and thermal energy transfer.

Save the Penguins Project

8th grade Physical Science students will use their knowledge of matter and thermal energy transfer to engineer a shelter to protect ice cube "penguins" from harsh environmental conditions.

This experiment is a model for real-life conditions affecting African Black-footed Penguins. These creatures have dwindling population numbers due to human influence and climatic change.
