Weekly Enrichment & Engagement Opportunities for Students - 2nd Semester

Free Hot Chocolate Club!  7-7:50 a.m. Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays. Families must provide transportation to school. 

Robotics:  3-4:25 p.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays w/ Miss Murphy, Mrs. Bowman and Miss Gusman. K-01.  Funded by Kamehameha Schools.  Study Hall from 2:15-3 p.m.  Free bus transportation home provided by KS.

Mala'ai Garden After-School: 3-4:25 p.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays w/ Ms. Jessica Sobocinski.  Funded by Kamehameha Schools. Study Hall from 2:15-3 p.m.  Free bus transportation home provided by KS.  Still room for a few more students.  Please ask for an application in the office or call or see Mrs. Rice (887-6090 Ext. 296 or email: Pat_Rice@wmpccs.org.  Click here for more information and application form.  

4th Quarter 21st Century Community Learning Centers After-School STEM Classes - Exciting choices - sign up NOW! There is a charge and scholarships are available.  Click here for more details or see Aunty Bernie Marsh in the office. 

Ø The Art of Comics – Mondays (2:30-4) & Wednesdays (1:30-3 p.m.) w/ Mr. Geoffrey Mundon  L03A - Learn about comic book styles - drawing, composition, color development and painting – as well as storytelling!

Ø Co-ed Strength & Conditioning Training w/ Mr. Jacob Mirels - Monday-Wednesday-Friday – 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Ø Advanced Sewing w/ Ms. Iris Thompson - 2:30-5 p.m., Mondays  P02B - Most materials will be provided but students may bring their own cotton fabrics.  Limited to the WMS students who took sewing 3rd Quarter w/ Ms. Thompson. 

Ø Making Math Delicious w/ Miss Cara Bertelmann - Tues-Thurs, 3-4:30 p.m.  K04 - Students must attend Study Hall from 2:15-3 p.m. prior to the start of class. Bus transportation available home w/in the Waimea area for WMS students only.

Ø After-School Science with Mr. Matt Binder - 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays  L02 - WMS students must attend Study Hall from 2:15-3 p.m. prior to the start of class. Bus transportation available home w/in the Waimea area for WMS students only.

Ø Introductory Sewing for Adults w/ Ms. Iris Thompson - 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday evenings  P02B - Fabric will be provided for the first project; thereafter, participants may provide preferred cotton fabrics for additional class projects.  Both men and women welcome but they must have a child registered in a 21st Century Community Learning Centers class in either Waimea Elementary or Waimea Middle School.

Ø Introductory Sewing w/ Ms. Iris Thompson - 2:30 – 5 p.m., Thursdays  P02B - Fabric will be provided for the first project; students/families may provide preferred cotton fabrics for additional class projects. Both boys and girls welcome.

Tues., March 28 - Third of a series of 7 Talk-Story Classes with Ku'ulei Keakealani about "Wahi Pana - Celebrated Places" - co-hosted by Waimea Education Hui and WMS.  Click here for more details.  4-5:30 p.m.  L03A.  Free and all invited!  No RSVP - Just Come.   Continues every Tuesday thereafter thru April 25 except during Spring Break.  

Wed., March 29 - WMS Hui 'Ohana Social #2 - Ho'okipa - Showcasing progress of May Day performances!  5-6:30 p.m.  L-04 - All families invited!  

Mon.-Tues., April 10-11 – Accreditation Visit – Special LAP Meeting Mon., 3:30-4:20 Meet & Greet & STEAM Building Tour, then LAP Meeting 4:30-6:30 p.m. in K-03.  All invited!  

Fri., April 14 - Good Friday - No Classes 

Wed., April 19 - WMS Hui 'Ohana Social #3 - Huipū - Preparation for May Day - All families invited! 

Sat., April 29 - Mala'ai Art & Sol Annual Benefit - Kahilu Theatre.  Click here for information and tickets! 

Fri., May 12, 2017 - May Day Celebration for Waimea Middle School  - 5:30 p.m. - Kahilu Theatre (Note new time & new location!  All families expected to join us for this student ho'ike!) 

Thurs., May 25, 2017 - 8th Grade Exit Ceremony at the Waikoloa Marriott 

Fri., May 26, 2017 - Final Day of School for All Students 

Mon., June 5 - Fri., June 23 - WMS Summer Adventure!  8 a.m. - 2 p.m. daily except Mon., June 12 - Kamehameha Day Holiday.  Stay tuned!
