"Students are my reason for coming to work everyday."
Ms. Valek began her school counseling career at FAIR School Crystal in January 2001, the inaugural year. Setting up the program and revising it through the years has provided much satisfaction. Beginning 2nd semester of the 2010-11 school year, Ms. Valek began her adventure as a high school counselor at FAIR School Downtown.
She received her Bachelor's degree (Sociology with a criminal justice emphasis) and her Master's degree in Education (K-12 School Counseling) from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Ms. Valek strives to meet the academic, social/emotional and career needs of all students. She meets with students individually, in small groups and classroom settings.
When not working, Ms. Valek enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. She spends summers camping and enjoying the outdoors. She also enjoys volleyball, softball and running. In the fall of 2013, she began playing indoor soccer.
